Live Q&A gives your speakers and attendees the ability to bring real-life Q&A sessions into the DoubleDutch app.
Live Q&A Setup in the CMS
Enabling Live Q&A
To enable Live Q&A, go to the Discover More section, and click the 'Install Now' button on the Q&A box. Then click 'Set Up Now'.
Moderator Dashboard in the CMS
Once you have Live Q&A enabled, you will be able to manage questions via the Moderator Dashboard. The Moderator Dashboard can be found by visiting the Q&A section under the Content tab.
Moderation Off
By default, moderation will be set to off. When moderation is turned off, all submitted questions will automatically appear in the "Approved" section of the box on the right.

Marking Questions
There are three lists in the box on the right. To toggle between each list, click 'Approved', 'Blocked', or 'Answered'.
Questions in the "Approved" list can be marked as "Answered" by clicking the blue checkmark or marked as "Blocked" by clicking the red x. All questions in the "Approved" list can be marked as read by clicking the "Mark all as read" button. To move a particular question to the top of the "Approved" list, click the 'Move to Top' button.
When a question is marked as "Answered", the question is removed from the "Approved" list and moved to the "Answered" list. When a question is marked as "Blocked", the question is removed from the "Approved" list and moved to the "Blocked" list.
Turning Moderation On
To turn moderation on, click the 'Moderation' toggle to 'On'.

When moderation is turned on, all submitted questions first appear in the new questions box on the left-hand side and appear in order of most recent to oldest.
If you click on the green checkmark for a question, the question will be removed from the "New Questions" list and moved to the "Approved" list (in the box on the right-hand side). A confirmation is sent to the attendee that submitted the question. Alternatively, if you click the red x for a question, the question will be removed from the "New Questions" list and moved to the "Blocked" list.
Once questions are moved from the "New Questions" list to the box on the right, you can mark questions as mentioned earlier in this article.
Additionally, moderators have the ability to pin five questions to the top of the question list.
Lastly, with a lot of questions being submitted, it might become overwhelming to manage the full list of unanswered questions. To make it easier, you can click the 'All Sessions' drop-down to filter the questions by session. The name of each session is also shown above the question text.
Adding Q&A Sessions
In order to make the appropriate Q&A sessions correspond to the agenda, you'll want to add Q&A sessions via the Moderator Dashboard.
To do so, click "Add Session" from the top of the dashboard. Enter the Session Name in the text field (use the names of your agenda sessions to make it easier for attendees to locate the right Q&A session).
Click 'Save' to add the session and continue adding additional sessions. You can also edit the name of a session by clicking on the 'Edit' icon or hide a session by clicking on the 'Hide in App' button.
Exporting Questions
To export the list of questions as a .csv file, click 'Export Questions' at the bottom of the approved questions list.
Displaying Q&A on a Monitor
To display Q&A on a monitor, choose a session from the Moderation drop-down. Make sure 'Start Session' is selected, then click on 'Launch in new tab' to open a new tab with the Q&A session.

Additional Settings
Some additional settings that can be configured via the Moderator Dashboard:
- You can select 'yes' or 'no' to choose whether you want to allow attendees to submit questions anonymously.
- Add a background image to display with your questions on a big screen. The recommended image size is at least 700 x 700 px.
- Add moderators to the admin panel in the app.
Live Q&A in the App
Admin Panel in the App
Questions can also be moderated via the Admin Panel in the app as long as you are listed as a moderator in the CMS. By tapping on 'Open Admin Panel' moderators will be able to approve, block, and mark questions as answered from within the app.
Joining Q&A Sessions
To find a Q&A session in the app, attendees can go to the Q&A section. The Join Q&A page displays all the available sessions that have Live Q&A. Once the attendee taps a session name, they can then select 'Join Q&A' to view the Q&A for that session.
Viewing Questions
The question feed defaults to the "Popular" filter. The "Recent" or "Answered" feeds can be viewed by clicking on the appropriate list name.

"Popular" is filtered by most upvotes to least upvotes, "Recent" is filtered by the most recently submitted question to the oldest question, and "Answered" is filtered by questions that are marked as answered by the moderator with the most recently answered at the top.
Asking Questions
Tapping the "Type your question here" text box will open a window where the attendee can type in their question.

Questions are limited to 250 characters. The "Ask anonymously" checkbox allows the attendee to appear as "Anonymous" when their question is asked, replacing their name in the questions list.
When the attendee taps 'Ask Question', their question is added to the question feed or submitted to the moderator.
Upvoting
Tapping the thumbs up icon will submit a vote for the corresponding question (this is called an upvote).
